4/19 9:10am Megan had a good night. Vitals are all in a normal range; Pupils and all 4 limbs are responding well. She is still in an induced sleep while they lower med to see how the heart reacts. So far, so good. Still a small infection from Sat. episode, but better. Docs are pleased with her progress. "Man does procedures, but God does the healing." This miracle is on-going so keep praying for a full recovery.

  1. Megan is a such a trooper and I get the feeling that she'll be able to handle whatever is thrown her way in the future! My sister Ashley was born with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy and had a heart transplant 5 years ago this June. She is now 25, a nurse and is not taking any day for granted. (In fact, my cousin Erin Pinkerton already wrote about this on the previous post. Barb Brooks (Downs) is my aunt!) I get the feeling that Megan will do the same!

Thoughts and prayers are with Megan and your family, as well as the donor family - because without them, this miracle would not be possible. Congratulations to Megan on her new lease on life!!!

  3. I'm going to keep praying and I agree with the other comments. Megan will be very strong because of going thru this and will be able to handle anything. She knows first hand what God can do! Praying for her recovery and for no complications whatsoever!

  5. Our daughter-in-law, Emily was a friend of Megan's in college at Hannibal and she told us about Megan. My husband is pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. I just wanted you to know we are praying for Megan and your family. God is good all the time.

  6. Megan & Family, I am at work at the moment but thinking of you all. I know our entire family continues to lift you up in prayer. May the Holy Spirit keep you strong in faith and the certainty of His Great Love. Psalm 139 is a good one! We can never be lost to His Spirit!!!!

  7. I saw your story on channel 5 news! I am nurse at Barnes and I am transferring to the unit that you are on 56ICU (cardiothoracic). I was so happy to hear that a donor heart was available for you. I know you have a long road of recovery but from what I know you seem like an extremely tough girl. I will keep you and your family in my prayers! Hang in there!! You've already made it so far!!! :)
